More than 100,000 thumbs down in good two weeks - this has not yet made a video on the official Youtube channel of Nintendo. Not even The E3 trailer for the 3DS game Metroid Prime: Federation Force brought it to this amount of dislikes, not in the six years since its release. But the trailer for the Nintendo Online Expansion Pack has secured this dubious record.
Fans remind of Satoru Iwata
The reason for the excitement and the unusable rage of the fans is not necessarily in the notification of the enlargement package in itself, but rather in the announced implementation of this online package. What a reason should be a reason to enjoy the Nintendo Community, namely the announcement of an emulation of 23 N64 and Sega genesis games, instead ensures long faces.

The problem: Nintendo demands for the expansion pack, which includes besides said emulations also a separately available extension for Animal Crossing (Nintendo Switch (now € 355.90 €)), proud 39.99, per year. That s 20 euros more than you have paid for a year Nintendo Switch online so far. Also stupid: Who wants to complete the expansion package, must complete the subscription for a year. There are no options for a monthly or quarterly payment (as the simple subscription). So if you only want to play in one of the old classics, you bind you for a year on Nintendo. For this purpose, the complaints about the emulation quality of the N64 games contained in the expansion pack are currently piling up: fans complain about the compared to the original worse graphic, input-lags and game crashes at Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Meanwhile, the online mode of Mario Kart 64 suffers from crass connection problems and transforms at times into a slideshow.
All in all, Nintendo does not offer a good deal with the online expansion pack. That the fans therefore massively devalue the trailer within a very short time is a clear finger to the Japanese company. Some YouTube users cite under the video also the deceased, former Nintendo President Satoro Iwata, who once said:
I do not think that it is reasonable to pay people for a game and then build a network connection and request a monthly fee.
In any case, Nintendo has long since come. We also doubt that the Group can be impressed by the dislikes on Youtube - but the hope dies well-last...
