Jakob Elijah Johnson (German pronunciation: [ˈjaːkɔp] YAH-kop; birthed 15 December 1994) is a German professional gridiron football fullback for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). Born in Stuttgart, he relocated to the USA as a senior in senior high school. Johnson played university football for the Tennessee Volunteers before signing up with the Patriots as a component of the NFL's International Gamer Pathway Program.
For an NFL game in Germany 2022, the German Football Professional Jakob Johnson is intensively involved. I'm trying to process anyone here that the Patriots receive the surcharge, said the 26-year-old fullback of the New England Patriots on Tuesday in a media round. Since 2007, the National Football League has regularly carried regularly season games in London. Most recently, Europa boss Brett Gospper had announced that Germany should follow Germany by 2023.
An NFL game in his home would give the football enthusiasm in Germany another boost, so Johnson. That could show the fans, that the NFL listens that the NFL sees how important the sport is here, how many fans the nights beat their ears. Only in the summer break, the native Stuttgart realized how popular football is now in this country: I thought I could run around in Stuttgart, but I've been recognized a few times.
First touchdown ball: In the safe under my bed
Jakob Johnson goes to his third season in the NFL. He and Rookie Amon-Ra St. Brown (Detroit Lions) are the two only Germans who start in the new NFL season on Thursday (local time). In the preseason he succeeded as second German a touchdown. I have the ball in the safe under my bed, there is no one ran, Johnson said proudly.
Now he wants to take an even more important role in the patriots for which he was used in the preseason in all 16 games, eleven times as a starter. That will be a huge year and next season hopefully with a game in Germany.
