How does it look like with OverVATCH 2 - the current state

A small light shimmer at the horizon foroWatch fans. Blizzard has mentioned the title in earnings call - and promised more information.

Doomed Almost 2 years since the announcement of Overwatch 2 has passed on the BlizzCon 2019, but for many players, it does not give the impression as if a lot has happened since then. New pictures are rare, many details are still unknown and everything is quite nebulous. On the "Earnings Call" by Activision Blizzard for the quarter 2 of the year 2021 there was at least a small bright spot.

What was said? Supposedly you have achieved an "important, internal milestone" at Overwatch in recent weeks. Although Blizzard does not explain what exactly this milestone is, but that leaves at least speculation that we would soon enjoy an alpha or beta.

What is Overwatch 2 actually? That too is not quite clear. Basically, Overwatch 2 is a successor, but should also be integrated into the old game. The big balancing and PVP changes in OverVATCH 2 will also be seen in OverVATCH 1 and both games share a player pool.

However, in OverVATCH 2, there are many graphical improvements and an extensive co-op story campaign in which the heroes can even distribute talent points and let themselves individualize. Whether the story campaign can really be fetters to long or is just something for Lore fans, remains to be seen.

When's more info? Even if no concrete date has been mentioned for more information, there should be more information and ideas in the coming months. So it says:

After the great feedback on our latest community update, the team is looking forward to revealing more from the game in the coming months while achieving the later phases of production .

In the last community update, Blizzard had left a slightly larger cat out of the sack, because with OverVATCH 2, the shooter turns away from the proven 6-counter-6 principle. Instead, each team is evaporated to 5 characters. This means a greater weighting in choosing the heroes, but also more responsibility for each individual player - and a greater chance of making the whole team "Carrien".

The announcement of the 5-VS-5 change came to the players rather with mixed feelings. Especially the professional teams have annoyed about it and asked for their existence, as a reduced team size also means that some players are simply no longer needed.
